It Depends Whose Hands It's In

This past weekend my family and I took a trip up to Highland, UT.
My cousin, Andy Lewis, had his mission farewell talk.
He's probably the cousin that I'm the closest to on either side of my family
since we're only 8 months apart.

He's a stud and quite the Lady Killer ;)
He will be leaving for the Provo MTC on Wednesday July 1st.
After 3 months of training there he will enter into
Laoag, Philippines Mission.

He is a brave soul.
I was grossed out as he was telling me about where he will be serving.
I couldn't even imagine living there!

NO:
TOILETS (JUST HOLES IN THE GROUND)
TOILET PAPER
DEODORANT
SHOWERS

AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.

Not to mention the food he will have to eat. Their delicacies include foods such as:
  • ROTTEN CHICKEN EGGS (THE ONES THAT ALREADY HAVE GROWN CHICKS IN THEM)
  • "POOP SOUP" (THAT'S REALLY WHAT THEY CALL IT.)WHICH IS MADE OF GOAT INTESTINES AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE.
Even though where he is going is the polar opposite world that we're used to living in, Andy couldn't be happier or more excited to get out there and serve.
Andy is a great guy and there is no doubt that he will make a great missionary.
We are all so proud of him and know that his Heavenly Father is proud of the decisions he has made also.
Good Luck Andy! We love you and will miss you!

Below is the poem Andy read in his talk and I really enjoyed it so I thought I would share.

A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.
A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million.
It depends whose hands it's in.

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6.
A baseball in Alex Rodriguez's hands is worth $28 million.
It depends whose hands it's in.

A tennis racket is useless in my hands.
A tennis racket in Rafael Nadel's hands is a Wimbledon Championship.
It depends whose hands it's in.

A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal.
A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea.
It depends whose hands it's in.

A sling shot in my hands is a kid's toy.
A sling shot in David's hands is a mighty weapon.
It depends whose hands it's in.

Two fishes and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches.
Two fishes and 5 loaves of bread in Jesus' hands will feed thousands.
It depends whose hands it's in.

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.
Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will produce salvation for the entire world.
It depends whose hands it's in.

As you see now it depends whose hands it's in.
So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families and your relationships in God's hands because.......
it depends whose hands it's in.

A Blogger is Born

Today I became a "Blogger".

That word always reminds me of a "Booger".
("Hey Mom, I became a Booger today!")

This whole blog came about as I was sitting bored at work.
I work at the SUU library,
usually at the Circulation Desk where I am normally pretty busy
but because they were short on help,
this week and the next few I will be helping out in the (very slow)
Copy Center.

Now, now, before you think that I'm slacking off let me explain.
Okay, I am slacking off- but it's allowed!
Since school is out and there are very few students needing help
they let us surf the net and do various different activities
to keep ourselves entertained for our 6 hours shifts.

I'm a regular visitor of a few blogs
but I never thought to make one for myself.
Well, boredom got the better of me today,
so even though my life is pretty HUM DRUM,
I'm going to put it on the internet anyway!

ENJOY!
